First post's first...
On my way home from school the other day I "stopped by" Trader Joe's in Town and Country. Ok it's really not on my way at all but there are some items at Trader Joe's I can't replace with anything else. Oh and who wants to sit in traffic during rush hour? So as I was saying I was musing through the Town and Country shopping area and I walked past Chakra 4. I love this place. They serve organic food, buying locally as much as possible. With the semester ending shortly it'll be a drive to come over to the area. I need a local, organic, vegetarian restaurant in Mesa! Does anyone know of any? I have searched and searched but I still haven't found what I'm looking for. Until then...I'll be driving all over the valley, to places like Chakra 4.

Hey guys! Here to help locate and highlight great places to buy and eat food around the valley. Just because I live in the desert doesn't mean I'm in a food desert. The options are many and the places are plenty. Feel free to share your favorite, healthy AZ eats.

Hanging around downtown..
Going to ASU downtown campus is awesome. I was so excited when I found out my major had been moved from Polytechnic campus (out in the middle of nowhere!) to the downtown campus. One of the things I looked forward to most was all the great restaurants around the downtown area. And let me tell you, there are tons! I have to highlight one of my favorites here for all you downtown crew...PHX Public Market. Not only do they have a small indoor market but they have a Market Cafe as well. The menu boasts sandwiches, salads and soups...oh and did I mention it's right across the street from ASU!
PHX Public Market also hosts an Open Air Market on Wednesday evenings! With food trucks, live music, farm-fresh produce and crafts the Open Air Market has something for everyone. I love the Mojo Bowl food truck. Green smoothie please!
The next time you're looking for something quick and close by, head over to the market and try something local and delicious.
